Joan Allin is an accredited independent hearing commissioner. She has been Principal Environment Judge and alternate Environment Judge at the Environment Court, resource management partner at Chapman Tripp, and senior lecturer in law at Victoria University. She came to New Zealand in 1979 from Canada and is a New Zealand citizen.
