Rob van Voorthuysen, has 25 years experience in environmental management. Rob’s specialist areas include acting as a Hearing Commissioner and undertaking regional policy and planning analysis. Rob has been consulting for ten years and prior to that worked for the Hawke’s Bay Regional Council, Waikato Regional Council, the Department of Conservation and the former Ministry of Works and Development. Rob has a Bachelor's degree in water and soil engineering and a Master's degree in public policy. Rob has been a full member of the New Zealand Planning Institute since 1998. The One Plan will be Rob’s 100th hearing as an independent commissioner.
